Raising money for Julia’s House

IMSM successfully raised £1093.10 for Julia’s House, the Dorset and Wiltshire Children’s Hospice. Julia’s House is a lifeline for parents facing the devastating reality that their child may not live into adulthood and will need constant round-the-clock-care. The charity provides award-winning care for babies, children and young people with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions and support for their families. IMSM heard about the local charity and wanted to support them in whichever way they could. The money was raised through activities such as sponsored abseiling, cake sales, dress-down days and prize draws. Michael Bright, owner of IMSM, said, “Julia’s House plays a vital role in the local community, the care provided to these children is second to none. I’m very proud of everyone at IMSM pulling together to help raise this money – I know it will be gratefully received. I hope Julia’s House continues to go from strength to strength.”

IMSM were invited to see the charity’s Devizes hospice and were amazed by the facilities on offer. From sensory rooms and gardens, to computers that use eye-tracking for children who may not be physical able to move a mouse. The thought and effort that has gone into ensuring the child has a safe, fun environment to relax and play in was amazing to see. Hannah Gale, who runs the charity committee at IMSM stated, “Visiting the hospice really opens your eyes to the magical work that they do for the families in their care. IMSM try to organise events at least once a month to ensure we are doing all we can to raise as much money as possible.” IMSM is very proud to be supporting Julia’s House, as they make a real difference to those families in need.”

We provide vital respite care for parents who look after extremely sick children and kind donations such as this enable us to continue providing the care, facilities and help required by families within the Wiltshire and Dorset area.  We look forward to continuing the relationship with IMSM in the future.”
